The following information is issued by the King William Working Group committee who wish to let you know the Working Group committee has commenced work on looking at options for the future of the King William pub.
We have had positive meetings with the brewery that owns the pub (Palmers), have inspected the building inside and out to understand the work needed to re-open it and have started a series of actions aimed at determining whether there is a practical way forward. Any action plan would involve launching the King William as a Community hub, not just as a pub.
We will be launching an online survey later this month asking residents across the Polden Hills to give us their views on ideas for use of the pub and their desire (or otherwise) to see it re-open.
In the meantime, if you haven’t yet asked to be kept up to date on progress but would like to be, please message me sending me your email address.
PS As you will have gathered from the above, any rumours you may have heard that the Working Group has concluded that the project isn’t viable are simply untrue!
