Around a hundred villagers of all ages gathered around Catcott’s Christmas tree to sing favourite carols and traditional songs at the start of Christmas week. The evening was led by Martin Melia and the Burtle Silver Band provided the music.
Village children were among the most enthusiastic singers. The event was organised by the Catcott Village Association which laid on mulled wine and mince pies.
A collection for the Children’s Hospice South West raised £175..
There will be more carols at the Christmas morning service at St Peter’s Church at 9am.
