We were fortunate again this year with the weather as the villagers crowded in front of the Christmas tree by the war memorial for traditional carols led by Martin Melia and the Burtle Silver Band.
The children were rewarded with a choice of chocolate and sweets as they showed off their winter lanterns and the crowd were rewarded with the children singing individual verses on several of the carols.
The Village Association provided welcome warming mulled wine and tasty mince pies and succulent sausage rolls.

A collection was made as the buckets were passed around the crowd in aid of the Catcott Playing Field and Catcott School.
