Our Christmas Carols were held at Catcott Primary School Hall on Monday the 19th of December with the Burtle Silver Band.
The weather was too unpredictable to hold the event around the village Christmas tree so we are very grateful to Mrs Constanza for allowing us to use the School Hall.
The tree does look lovely so it was a shame about the weather.
The Band were in good form and pleased to be inside in the warm.
There was a good turnout and everyone was in good voice for a good number of festive favourites, finishing with “Jingle Bells” and “Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer” and a final rendition of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.
Most people stayed for mince pies, sausage rolls and mulled wine and a good chat. There was even alcohol free mulled wine for the children and it went down well, as did the sweets which were awarded for anyone turning up with a Christmas lantern. Many thanks to our CVA committee who provided the refreshments.
Cheers!
A collection was made at the end and £161.92 was taken. A donation of £85 was made to the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the remainder went towards the Village Association costs for staging the event.
