The Village Hall Edington was filled with the unmistakeable aroma of curry on a wet October Saturday Night as Catcott Village Association put on it’s Curry Night with samosa and bhaji starters followed by a selection of Meat, Fish and Vegetable Curries with Poppadoms, Rice and Nan bread. There was plenty of curry as hungry villagers came back for seconds and thirds washed down with a selection of beers, cider, wines, lemonade and cola. When everyone had their fill the evening continued with a raffle and a game of “Turbans and Saris” followed by a selection of dance grooves from the 60’s and 70’s through to more contemporary sounds from our professional DJ.
A good time was had by all.
Many thanks to the Village Association Committee with support from village volunteers for everything from making a curry to serving the food, running the raffle and clearing up.
Special thanks to Elaine for yet again lending her expertise in preparing the curries and organising the kitchen on the night.
Thanks to the Village Playing Field Committee for manning the bar.
Thanks also to Clarks, the Crown Inn and the King William Inne for providing gift vouchers for the raffle.
