After the hottest July on record and with another heatwave predicted for the end of the month, it decided to rain on Catcott’s open day.
Despite the damp conditions 15 gardens opened their gates to scores of visitors who enjoyed travelling between stops in a number of vintage cars. More classic vehicles were on display at the King William.
The event was organised by the Catcott Village Association to raise funds to support groups and organisations in the village and put on more events later in the year. The proceeds are shared with charities selected by Gerry Wheeler of Vintage Wheels who supplied the cars.
The summer gardens competition was judged in the week leading up to Open Gardens and there will be a presentation evening for the winners in September.
The CVA has thanked all those who opened their gardens for the event, the volunteers who helped with the running of the day and the visitors who came.
